gPanel API Expansion for Advanced Administration

What's Changing

We are significantly expanding gPanel’s administrative coverage through a comprehensive set of new API integrations across six foundational pillars. This moves gPanel beyond a feature-based utility into a governed operational control layer for Google Workspace.

The newly-added API coverage includes:

• Identity & Access: Centralized management for users, groups, roles, OUs, and domains, including full support for custom schemas and domain aliases.
• Security & Compliance: Enhanced visibility and enforcement through APIs for 2SV status, admin role assignments, and comprehensive reporting across login, Drive, and Gmail activity.
• Collaboration & Data Governance: New controls for shared drives, file permissions, ownership transfers, and calendar resource management.
• Communication Management: API-driven control over mailbox settings, including Gmail labels, filters, delegates, forwarding addresses, and S/MIME certificates.
• Device Control: Improved endpoint visibility and management for MDM and ChromeOS, featuring remote wipe and powerwash capabilities.
• Lifecycle & Transition Automation: Orchestrated workflows for bulk provisioning, OU synchronization, and data transfers for Looker Studio, Drive, and Calendar.

Why It’s Important 

While Google Workspace provides object-level controls, this expansion allows gPanel to centralize and govern how those controls are executed. By leveraging these new APIs, all actions are authenticated, logged, and auditable within gPanel’s centralized service layer.

This reduces the operational risks and security gaps associated with unmanaged scripting tools or command-line utilities like GAM. Furthermore, this foundational infrastructure is essential for future workflow orchestration and AI-driven administration.
