Adding Advanced Logic & Expanded Governance in the gPanel Rules Engine

We're excited to announce that we've added new capabilities to the gPanel Rules Engine to give Google Workspace administrators more control without sacrificing security.

What's Changing

We have expanded gPanel’s Rules Engine to support comprehensive governance and advanced policy enforcement across your Google Workspace environment:

Advanced Multi-Condition Logic: Move beyond single-condition triggers. You can now build complex rule structures using AND/OR filter logic (+ Add Condition / + Add Condition Block) alongside exact and partial matching operators (such as contains, does not contain, starts with, and ends with).
New Action ("Remove Share"): Automatically revoke sharing access on a Drive file as soon as unauthorized or external sharing conditions are detected.
Expanded Trigger Events & Filters: Added trigger events across Drive, Admin, and Calendar activities, including Drive Ownership Transfer, Document Creation/Sharing, Calendar Sharing, User Logins/Failures, 2FA Deactivation, and Role/Permission changes as well as recovery contact fields for User Profile Updates.
Redesigned User Interface: A streamlined builder featuring a clear "WHEN, IF, and THEN" configuration flow, top navigation between rule sections, and direct access to in-app setup help.

Why It’s Important

Organizations require active governance, not just basic task automation. These enhancements allow you to capture high-risk activity in real time — such as administrative role modifications, external document exposure, or disabled two-factor authentication — and automatically enforce your organization's security and compliance policies directly within gPanel.

Rollout Pace

These changes have already been fully deployed and are live in the gPanel platform.

Availability

The Rules Engine is available in gPanel's Enterprise tier.
